Week 2

It's been two weeks into the program and I can't believe it's almost over! My experience so far has been great and I wish it could go on for just a little bit longer. Week 2 has been packed with a lot of work and writing. Most of the class started on their editorials and story assignments. Since my story assignment isn't until next monday, I got the chance to start writing on my editorial that will published in the newspaper. It was hard to think of what I wanted to write, but with lots of brainstorming, I thought of a topic that I was really passionate about, which was art and its role in public schools. My editorial was strictly based on my own opinion, so I am glad I got write out my true feelings on my topic.

On Monday, I was assigned as the photographer for Imani's story. I was excited about this story because I was interested in learning about the Chapel of the Four Chaplains. What I liked most about our is assignment was meeting the nice lady Imani got to interview and seeing the big, historical Navy ships. We came into this assignment thinking this story would be dull and boring, but we ended up learning so much and wasn't what we thought it would turn out to be.

All in all, this week has been a great learning experience. I'm excited for next week, because I finally get to go on my story assignment. My appointment is at the Art Sanctuary. I don't exactly know what this place is about, but I've already gathered up some questions that I'll definitely ask in my interview.
